This is the view from the lanai as the sun sets into the Pacific ocean. Although the weather here can vary a bit and there’s a fair amount of rain, we almost always get to see at least part of the sunset. The coastline, which you can barely make out in the midground just above the fence, is about two-and-a-half miles away. I’m not really sure what altitude we’re at, I wonder if Google Earth tells you that. As it gets dark, we can watch the lights of Kailua come on. Also with darkness comes the surprisingly loud chirping of the Coqui frogs.
This photo was made with an iPhone 4 using the app HDR Pro. I then emailed it to the iPad where I did some tweaks in Snapseed, a very nice editing app from Nik Software.
